The NDSU ‘Bison’ host the Indiana State ‘Sycamores’ on Senior Day. It’s the last regular season home game and the Bison need to keep their foot on the gas.
This afternoon’s game is “Code Green”, which means I have to dig further back in my closet for my green Bison clothing. Hopefully the ‘Bison’ won’t have to dig quite so deep to beat the 4–6 ‘Sycamores’. ISU has not won in the Fargodome since 2012. But this is the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) and anything can happen. If the ‘Bison’ take the ‘Sycamores’ for granted, NDSU will pay the price.

Note: I attended and photographed this game. Each photo’s description follows the play-by-play, so I recommend you look at the photos in the gallery or use the slideshow for a visual play-by-play of the game.

Quotes
- ISU Head Coach, Mike Sanford
- We have had trouble covering punts. The last three games we have given up punts for touchdowns, and that is unacceptable. (Giving up 21 unanswered points) I think it was probably shock and dismay. We were like a fighter on the ropes early. But we came back and fought as the game went on.
- It had more to do with how practice had gone, how games have gone. We had a very difficult decision back in training camp between Isaac Harker and Aaron Young. We ended up going with Isaac and he did a lot of good things during the course of the season, and this is obviously not a move going into next year. It was purely about today. (on QB selection)
- I’m very proud of our group of seniors. (13 starters, 18 total) That was their last football game, and I think they have led us greatly. I’m very proud of them, and they have left a huge impression on our football program and I want to give thanks to them.
- NDSU Head Coach, Chris Klieman
- We knew that if we jumped on them early, we could get a lead and get the young guys in. That is exactly what the veteran players did today.. Those reps we got a lot of those backups will be valuable for us.
- NDSU Linebacker, Pierre Gee-Tucker
- I was jacked, just ready, just energized. I love hitting people and anytime I get the opportunity, I love doing it.
- It was good, we were able to encourage the other players. Sometimes they don’t have the opportunity to get as many reps as we do so it was nice they could get a little bit of the limelight, too.
- NDSU Quarterback, Easton Stick
- The offensive line played well, the guys ran hard and we made plays with the football.
- No, we don’t go out of bounds at NDSU, that’s not how we work. The guys did a good job of opening holes and I tried to find a way to win my one-on-one. (on his touchdown runs)
- NDSU Punt Return, Darrius Shepherd
- We talk week in and week out about having the explosive play. Special teams can be a game changer. I was a little scared, a little ‘whoa’ moment. But it all worked out (when he almost dropped the ball), and I had an entourage (blockers) to the end zone.
